Frequently Asked Questions
General Information

1. What are your opening hours?
Our opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 9am - 4pm, and Friday from 9am - 12:00pm. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday. Please note that hours may vary on public holidays or due to unforeseen circumstances. Any changes will always be posted as a notice on the home page of our website.

2. Do you have to make a booking?
A booking isn’t required for most repairs. You're welcome to drop off your instrument cluster at your convenience. However, we do recommend making a booking, especially if you need a fast turnaround or have a more complex repair. Booking ahead helps us prioritise your job.

3. Do we work on motorbike gauges?
We are not currently accepting motorcycle gauge repairs, as our focus is on other instrument cluster work. We do, however, continue to offer refurbishments of CBX gauges.

4. What are our most common repairs?
Our repair services are broad across many makes and models. Some of our most common jobs include Toyota Hilux fuel gauge repairs, Ford Focus cluster communication faults, and Holden VZ Commodore gauge issues, along with many other cluster-related concerns. To explore our full range of repair services, please view our repairs page.

5. Do we supply parts or gauges?
We do not supply replacement parts or gauges directly. We work on customer-supplied units only.
Getting In Contact
6. If your repair was sent to us by another workshop
If your unit has been sent to us by an auto repair shop or auto electrician, we will deal directly with that business regarding the repair. For updates or pricing, please contact your repairer, as they are managing the job on your behalf.

7. Waiting on a response?
If you have not received a reply within 2 business days, please follow up via our contact form and check your junk folder. If you did not receive a confirmation email, your enquiry may not have come through and will need to be resubmitted.
We are a small, locally owned business with one technician, and response times can vary during busy periods.

8. Speaking with the technician
Our technician’s priority is completing in-house repairs. Our reception team handle all enquiries and are here to assist wherever possible. Direct discussions with the technician can take place when his schedule allows. We can take a message for a return call, or you’re welcome to visit and speak with him when available.

9. Do we have a direct phone number or email adress?
We manage all enquiries through a single contact point on our contact form to ensure nothing gets missed. As a small team, this helps us keep everything tracked. If you’d prefer a call, you can request one in our contact form.
Before Dropping A Cluster Off

10. Does the cluster have to be removed from the car?
Yes, we work on loose instrument panels only. We don’t have the facilities to hold vehicles on-site, as all testing and repairs are carried out on the bench. If you’re unable to remove the unit yourself, your local auto electrician can assist with removal and refitting. Please note, it is not recommended to drive the vehicle without the instrument panel installed.

11. Condition of the cluster when dropped off
We do not work on disassembled gauges or units that have had self-repair attempts. Please ensure the cluster is fully assembled when dropped off, otherwise we may have to decline the repair. We cannot offer warranty to disassembled or previously worked on gauges.

12. Can someone drop off the unit on your behalf?
Yes, provided they have your contact details, a brief description of the fault or repair required, and any relevant job information so we can book it in correctly.
Shipping and Courier Services
13. Can you post a job to us?
Yes. Please provide us contact details as well as a repair description with the job.

14. Do we offer courier collections within the Perth metro?
Yes, we can arrange courier collections and deliveries within the metro area. The cost is on average $23.50 + GST. Same-day pickups must be organised before 10 am. Please contact us if you’d like to book this service. Please note this service is not covered by warranty.
Repairs, Testing and Timeframes
15. What is the time frame for most repair jobs?
It can be variable. We recommend preparing to leave the job with us for up to 7 working days. Full restorations can take up to 6-8 weeks. Due to the high volume of work we may experience scheduling shifts.

16. Do we offer same day service?
No, unfortunately we do not. We work on a queue-based system, which means we can’t move jobs ahead of others. If you have an urgent deadline that requires your vehicle, we recommend scheduling your repair with sufficient lead time. While we always aim to stay on schedule, some repairs can take longer than anticipated to ensure the job is done right.

17. Can we repair clusters with water damage or corrosion?
Repairs are very limited. You are welcome to bring your unit in for an assessment, but we generally recommend sourcing a replacement cluster with the same part number, which we can transfer the original data onto. Please note that we cannot provide a warranty on second-hand or replacement clusters, and both the old and new panels are required for the transfer.

18. Refurbishment process
We recommend sending a photo of your instrument cluster to our email first for a visual assessment. From there, each job follows its own process, with timeframes varying depending on the work required. We offer custom-made parts, mostly produced in-house through silk screening and machining. Please note that we do not provide chroming services.
Prices and Payment
19. Quotation policies
Please note that all quotations are estimates and may change following assessment of the unit. Verbal quotations are provided as a guide only and are not fixed. Written quotations can be provided upon request; however, these may also be subject to change if further work is required. In the event of any changes, we will contact you to discuss them before proceeding.

20. Do we charge for diagnostics?
We do not charge for diagnostics. Clusters are inspected and tested before quotation. This process may take a few days, but it is not subject to labour fees unless work goes beyond routine testing. Please advise if you would like a quote.

21. When is payment made
Payment is required once the repair has been completed and prior to collection or return shipping.

22. Do we accept American Express cards or use Capricorn?
No, unfortunately we do not.
Warranty and Aftercare
23. Do we offer warranty?
Most repairs come with a 12-month warranty, except for airbag repairs which carry a 14-day warranty. Warranty coverage depends on factors such as the condition of the cluster.

24. Do we cover postage or removal fees on warranty returns?
We stand by our workmanship and will take care of any valid warranty repairs. However, postage and freight costs for returning items, as well as any removal or reinstallation fees, are not covered and remain the responsibility of the customer. We’re happy to assist with organising freight and will prioritise warranty returns.

25. Do we prioritise warranty jobs?
Yes, we prioritise warranty repairs. However, if the issue returns, it may indicate a more complex fault. In these cases, additional time is required to thoroughly test and investigate the unit. We prioritise getting the repair right over rushing the process.

26. What does the warranty not cover?
Warranty applies to the original fault only and does not cover new or unrelated issues. It also does not cover faults caused by external factors such as wiring issues, voltage problems, or incorrect installation. Warranty is void if the unit has been disassembled or worked on after our repair.
